Pup Life FAQ

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event that you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us as soon as you are able by phone or email. This allows us to fill the session for another client. If notice is given in less than 24 hours, the session fee will still be charged. We understand that emergencies happen. Reasonable accommodations will be made to reschedule the appointment.

Do you service my area?

We service all locations within a 25 minute drive of Middletown, NJ. Not sure? Just ask!

My Dog isn’t bothering me, can we still benefit from training?

You absolutely can! Training isn’t all about fixing problems. If you can, preventing bad behaviors from happening in the first place is the very best solution. Communication & teaching appropriate behaviors is the key to a well-behaved pup.

What types of behavior issues do you help with?

Pulling on leash, housebreaking, not coming when called, eating everything on walks, jumping on house guests, not following through with a command when asked, chewing, counter surfing, resource guarding, barking, anxiety, fear & more. If you have a specific behavior you are having problems with, but don’t see it here, please reach out.

What is the best age to start training my dog?

ASAP! Puppies can start training the second they make it home from the breeder or rescue. This allows you to start off on the right foot with housebreaking, chewing, mouthing & other less-than-ideal manners puppies come with.

Where is the training performed?

Private training is done wherever you’re experiencing issues with your dog. This might be in the comfort of your home, or a public location such as a park. We want to see your dog in action & provide you with real world solutions. For multi-dog households, working in YOUR home can be a key in assessing the necessary areas of training focus.

What happens if I have trouble maintaining my dog’s behavior after we are done with training?

Our dog training services are comprehensive and customized to ensure success for you and your individual dog when we step away. From the very first session we make ourselves available to you at ANY time for troubleshooting questions. If your inquiry is too complex for email or phone assistance, you will be advised to book additional training.

We intend for our website, social media posts, and direct training to equip you with the knowledge and perspective needed to succeed, and that process begins BEFORE booking services with us. We are seeking committed, motivated clients, who are as excited to work with us as we are with them. Every dog is a little bit different and every owner learns in their own unique way, but taking a customized approach to training means we are focused on meeting you where you’re at, and seeing you through for the long haul!

With that being said, whether or not you are successful in maintaining your dog’s behavior comes down to YOU. Are you willing to put in the work over the long-haul? Are you committed to building a relationship with your dog, and not a dictatorship? Will you embrace the tools that work, and take the steps we taught you? If the answer is yes to all of those questions, you will do AWESOME! In fact, we’re proud to say that we’ve NEVER had a client come back to us saying that they haven’t seen results.

Do you offer a guarantee on training services?

We do not offer any guarantees, solely for the reason that the long-term results of our training services are incredibly dependent upon the level of commitment and patience each owner chooses to put into the teaching, skills, and techniques that have been given in an Pup Life training session.

Our biggest goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with your training experience. We have never worked with a dog who has not responded nor improved after being exposed to Jamie’s positive reinforcement & game play training methods. If for any reason you aren’t completely satisfied, please contact us to let us know how we can improve your experience.

Do you offer refunds?

If you’re already thinking about refunds, then we might not be the best match for each other. It’s super important to Pup Life that you feel extra comfortable about your dog receiving the best training of their life here! We encourage you to go back and browse our site and social media posts so you can get to know us, and take a look at what our competitors have to offer in order to be sure that we are what you’re looking for before moving forward. If you have additional questions, please feel free to email us.

Payments and deposits for training sessions and packages are non-refundable, but can be held as credit if rescheduling your session(s) within 90 days. It is of the utmost importance to us that you get what you need from training your dog with Pup Life. If for any reason you are unhappy with your training services, we will work with you to understand how to best resolve the situation.

What forms of payment do you accept?
